Time Travel on a Chinese Dragon

Back in 2008 I went on one a time travel.
I ended up in the future on the back of a Dragon, flying over China....

A very inspiring experiment... I must say.

After that episode, I created this painting called Chinese New Year (the Dragon)

And how fun! this morning the newspaper says:
Monday the 23 of January 2012 Starts the Chinese New Year,
and this year - it the Year of the Dragon!....

Heeeey! ain´t you a little late on that one China... ;-)

Anyway - here we go again.

A god friend of mine, just moved to a new apartment with a lot of huge white walls.
He asked me for a friendly favor, cause he knew to many white walls makes people crazy...

My first answer is always - Buy some nice original artwork,
skip the tele, furniture's, and walk in colset etc.

Put some nice music on the stereo, open a bottle of wine or a beers, and enjoy the art....

But buying large scale artwork can be a rough on the budget -
so we came up with something else...

I packed some paint, and went to his apartment.
Sometime the best plan - is not having a plan.

So we started with beer... That´s always a good plan.....

Then I asked: Well! what do you see on the wall?
My Friend: I´don´t know really! - you´r the creative! - a tree maybe!?!

Me: A tree - it will be....

a couple of hours and beers later...

Call it expressionism - Impulsive - or just having a good time with no plan...

1. A tribute to Sir. Edmund Hillary & Tenzing Norgay:
First to reach the top of Mount Everest in 1953/Rolex Explorer.

2. The volcano ash cloud from Iceland
"presented" by Eyjafjallajokull...

3. The burning euros in european economy...

4. The Quotation: "Nothing Happens Until Something Moves"
by Albert Einstein, and the tasty extravagant behaviour
in a blue lobster barbecue...

All added a bit of orange - just for the flavor...

This is a Sparrow!

This is famous actor Johnny Depp!

And this is Mr. Depp in his famous role as Pirate Jack Sparrow...

And Jack has a cool famous tattoo!

Johnny properly thought the same, cause following he had the tattoo made in real life, and added his sons name (Jack) underneath it.

I like the Pirate tattoo, so i drew my version of it today.

But there´s a small difference to it... It look like Mr. Depp´s -
but mine is a Sparrow - not a Swallow.....

My good friend Peter asked me a while ago,
if I would draw and tattoo 2 flying swallows for him.

Certainty.
Love classic motives like swallows, and always fun to do something you haven´t done before.

First I made some sketches (view Here)
and then I drew it on the arm.

When I first time saw this updated vertion of the Rolex Explorer watch, I thought - Nice with the red.....

Then I started to research a bit on the Explorer watch and the hole Rolex commitment, and then it started to be interesting and inspiring.

Honestly, the Rolex watches are nice tool watches, good quality and properly a very reliable mechanical watch.
( We like mechanical stuff...)

But the real Cool Factor is not in the Explorer watch itself.
It lies definitely with these two guys, Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr. Tenzing Norgay...

HOW ATTITUDE KILLS....

In 1928 a 15 year old boy called Palle Huld, won a trip around the world.

The competition was held by the Danish newspaper Politikken.

After Palles return to Denmark he wrote a book with his experiences - called: Arround the world in 44 days by Palle...

That hole thing inspired Belgian comic writer and artist Hergé
to invent the comic book: The Adventures of Tintin.

and that inspired Spielberg to make a movie -
The Secret of the Unicorn
(in the original French, Le Secret de la Licorne)

and that inspired me, to make a painting... Here -
back in Denmark.....
